Hopefully he'll be able to both navigate the trade war with Trump and solve some of Canada's more pressing domestic issues along the way, and if so, hopefully he'll be able to defeat the Conservatives led by Pierre Poilievre in the general election. I don't know much about Carney, but I do think Poilievre would be bad news.

His speech was great and he was Governor of the Bank of Canada and Governor of the Bank of England so he seems like the perfect guy for the job at this moment in time in regards to America being a twat with tariffs, a sensible choice to combat that bullshit. I do think he should call the election ASAP because the Twitter bots/Far-Right idiots are already out in full force with disinformation and attacks against him, I think him taking the initiative could be a smart move rather than letting this nonsense build over months.

A lot of these morons are screaming about how he wasn't democratically elected by the public, like, bro, it's a goddamn parliamentary system, educate yourselves, Lmao. Musk is also going to try to interfere in another countries elections like he did with Germany/AfD and do it via Twitter. America is now the new threat to elections across the world and we all need to be prepared not just for Russian interreference but now American interference via the Republican owned Twitter.
