Mark Carney is the new leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and as the leader of the party currently in power, will be the Prime Minister of Canada at least until the general election, replacing Justin Trudeau.

Hopefully he'll be able to both navigate the trade war with Trump and solve some of Canada's more pressing domestic issues along the way, and if so, hopefully he'll be able to defeat the Conservatives led by Pierre Poilievre in the general election. I don't know much about Carney, but I do think Poilievre would be bad news.
