I'm no fan of Zelenskyy, but he is more reasonable than Trump.
Trump seems to want one of these
1. To help Ukraine if they give him most or all minerals.
2. Leave Ukraine alone and possibly fall to Russia
3. Actively help Russia take most or all of Ukraine.
Trump is a wannabe king or emperor of an empire. US is a "pointillist empire" with its overseas military bases and territories, but Trump wants a formal empire as the endgame it seems. And part of that is either cozying up to Russia or possibly screwing them for dominance. I would go for the former, since Trump seems like he is going to be way more cucked to Putin than he was during the first Trump administration.
