E3 has 33 companies showing up this year, in comparison to the 400+ that attended E3 '06. Additionally, the entire thing will be in the lobby of the convention center, the same lobby that once had three or four companies, and which people went to mostly to get to the massive halls on either side. So yeah, it's downscaled. On the other hand, there still seems to be plenty of good stuff coming for Nintendo's systems alone, so while this isn't going to top '06, or even '04, it's still shaping up to be pretty sweet. Especially noteworthy is that Nintendo's invited many more gaming sites to its conference this year, so they have something planned for the "core" gamer that they think people will like. |
