I did not ignore Mat but he literally states 'For Xbox and Steam only it is pretty good' This sound like it is 'not good but for xbox and steam only it pretty is good' he also did not answer the follow up question if it surpassed 1m but I guess he may not answer... Steam reported this year the top 10 'new' games based on revenue and Indi did not make it, it also did not make it into the top 20 but is in the top 50 but which place exactly is unknown so my judgement of 20ish million doesn't seem far fetched. I did not argue that it is doing bad or not on player activity but placed 14th on the NPD seems low so yeah based on the fact that the game can't be cheap to made and Disney asking a cut it must be not making a profit something I would add is minimum requirement of 'good sales' or succes doesn't mean it can't be succesfull for gamepass but that is not what I argue about. |
For Xbox and Steam only it is pretty good, that can be applied to dozens of titles because they're missing the massive userbases of PlayStation and Switch, but it does not mean they sold poorly, it means they did pretty good, Lol. Steamspy is not accurate at all since Steam changed their API which was years ago. I've just gave you an example of how wildly inaccurate they are. They're as accurate as VGChartz's game sales and VGChartz stopped doing them, because they weren't accurate, Lol.
"to reach top 10 you needed to have 50 million in revenue:"
Not sure this is true? Can't see it stated by Steam. But again, you're only focusing on Steam and completely ignoring its Xbox placement, 4th best seller on Xbox and holding strong in the player charts, along with the achievement data, implies it has both sold well on Xbox and done well in Game Pass. You can't just select one data point (Steam).
What we have heard is.
- Mat (NPD) said it is "pretty good"
- Disney is reportedly happy with its performance and wants more.
