As such, I only expect a moderate increase to roughly 25Wh, maybe 30Wh, so similar to the OG GPD Win or Nvidia Shield, as otherwise the handheld would get too heavy for children to use over prolonged times without straining something.

Yeah, that's my estimate, too.

Keeping it at 16 - 20 Wh probably won't be enough, especially if the majority of rumours (8nm-SoC) are true.

Little kids with small hands will probably have to wait for the "Switch 2 lite" anyways due to the big SW2-Joycons... the normal Switch 2 seems to address teenagers and adults. Due to the huge Switch 1 library and probably a lot of cross-gen games, little kids will have to play their "Switch 1 lite" until then with a great selection of games.

The first revision in one or two years will probably "Switch 2 lite" with a die-shrink to 5 nm or 4 nm and a smaller battery to get the weight down.

Followed by a new revision of the standard model with the same 5nm/4nm SoC, which keeps the battery size and uses it for a longer battery life.
