If my guess about what you're talking about is correct, open the notification page and click on the X in the notification. It's there somewhere, just not all that easy to spot necessarily... At least that's how I remember fixing a similar (?) issue I had not too long ago. And no, the notification/X shouldn't be too hard to spot, so if you can't find it, I might be remembering something else.
