I was wondering why Final Fantasy XVI was still running like absolute ass on my new PC. 45fps on the title screen of all things. 25fps at 1080p low settings in game. 3 fps at 4k. Something clearly wasn't right as I have a 3070 and a 9800X3D.
Upon downloading GPU-Z and examining the Bus Interface, I was informed "The graphics card reports that it supports: PCI-Express x 16 4.0 It is currently running at PCI-Express x1 4.0" ......
Turns out I had my GPU in the wrong port, or perhaps it wasn't connected properly. Either way, I popped the GPU in the upper most (G5) port closest to the CPU and now I get 120fps at 1440p 
Makes me wonder how much this has been inpacting other games, and for how long (perhaps on my old PC too) I may have to reconsider the need to upgrade my GPU...
