Why does mostly everyone that get such ridiculous amounts of money eventually turn into/reveal itself to be such a disgusting waste of matter?

I remember when people thought Musk was a real life Tony Stark, especially at a time when RDJ’s Stark was at the peak of his popularity. A lot of the shine wore off of him when he called a British rescue diver a pedophile in a fit of public petulance. He also opened the door for right wingers to start accusing everybody of being pedophiles.
