Nintendo could have their best year of all-time in terms of quality this year, surpassing 2017. We'll see, so much is riding on Switch 2.

I know. It makes me nervous.

A fear I have is that Nintendo thinks Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Deluxe (haha), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Deluxe, and a new or casual IP is enough of a first-party lineup for launch. We need a new Mario Kart or 3D Mario day one.

We could also see a Wii U strategy return where most of the launch third-party games are ports of games that are months to over a year old. Having some of those in there is fine, but not ideal as just about the only option.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)
