IIRC, LucasArts got new management, which became skeptical of the devs after their game Haze flopped on PS3. The development of Haze and general transition to HD consoles was more expensive than Free Radical expected. LucasArts employees have claimed that Free Radical was missing deadlines, while FR veterans claim that LucasArts was months late in payment.
