| curl-6 said: Good thread; I was actually thinking of making this myself, guess great minds think alike! ;) I think it's a relatively close contest to be honest. The Xbox and 360 were excellent consoles, but so were the Megadrive and Dreamcast. The Saturn I also have a soft spot for. Was never a huge fan of Sonic, (though the 16-bit games were decent) but Sega did have a bunch of other great games; Panzer Dragoon, Nights into Dreams, Ecco the Dolphin, Altered Beast, Shenmue, etc. Ultimately I think I have to go with Xbox as the 360 is for my money one of the greatest consoles of all time, and I personally rank it above any of Sega's machines. To Sega's credit, I think they put up a pretty good fight here. |
Yeah. most would argue Mega Drive, Saturn, and Dreamcast can all put up a fight against all the Xbox consoles. And then you have the Master System, Game Gear, and even the initial JP-only SG-1000 too.
But Xbox and Xbox 360 are so beloved that I think it would make most prefer Xbox unless they really love Japanese games in general or Sega titles.
I didn't vote in the poll because I've only played a tiny bit of Genesis. Because of that, Xbox would win massively.
Still, as someone who's mostly into sixth generation and onward, Sega has a huge disadvantage there.
