The Switch was designed from the ground up to serve as both a handheld and a home console. That's how it was marketed. That's how it's used (according to Nintendo, about 50% of owners use both docked & handheld, 20% play primarily docked, and 30% play primarily handheld). That's what sets it apart from other portable systems that had an AV-out function. The PSP & Nomad were built from the ground up to be purely handheld systems, with the AV-out capability being an incidental bonus. It's like how the Wii U and PS5 were built from the ground up to serve as home consoles, and both having the ability to stream to a controller that has a screen on it doesn't somehow make them no longer home consoles (the Wii U gamepad couldn't go too far from the system, and the PS Portal is a fully optional accessory).
We can split hairs with "technically"s and "actually"s all day, but that doesn't change the fact that the Switch is its own unique thing that was designed to be the best of both worlds.
