The Vita failed for a lot of reasons, and one of them is that people don't want compromised versions of the high profile games, they want either a new thing or a proper high profile game.

People are buying those compromised games on Switch. Vita failed for the AT&T model. High price for the time. Poor marketing. Sony not supporting it and high memory card prices. 3DS stumbled as well due to a high price. They reduced it.

Sony and Nintendo are not comparable, their games have very different kinds of appeal, this is a horrible comparison.

Switch is Nintendo's only platform, there is no better version of their games to choose from, Switch gets Nintendo new mainline games, also their approach is completely different from Sony, they do not have games pushing the industry technically foward that benefit way more from being on stronger hardware, their games are already way simpler and less demanding, which wouldn't appeal nearly the same by having higher quality versions, as Sony games would not appeal nearly the same by having lower quality versions.
