Biden did a lot to tackle the student loan debt crisis. He canceled more student debt than any other president.

Here's what gets me about student loan debt relief.  Ok, let's say we do it.  But, what about the future debt of those kids who are college underclassmen?

What about those kids who are still in high school? In other words, do we have to have student loan debt relief every 4 years, just to be fair to all students?

Biden's plan though wasn't just about forgiveness, it was about changing the structure of repayment. It did that through a couple different bits:

1) Prevent loan interest from accruing above the principle.

2) Reduce the monthly payments for income driven repayment plans.

3) Automatically forgive loans after a set period of repayment.

It was a plan designed with underclassmen and high schoolers in mind. It was designed with the goal of making future forgiveness unnecessary. So yeah, he planned for that.

But wages are going up and people are largely employed?

Perhaps. But then there's inflation and prices going up faster than wages go up.

Except wages have been outpacing inflation for years.
