Last gen the comments about the PS4 sales were 100%: "it's amazing, doing great, impressive".

Now the PS5, a more expensive machice with 0 price cuts and actually having price increases, is doing about the same as the PS4 and somehow it needs to be "saved"?

After the Pro people are just deciding the PS5 has no games, and now that it is doing bad on sales? Literally makes no sense.

But that is what a big blunder can do to a product, all it takes is a big bad reaction (Pro reveal) and it ignites a chain effect of absurd stuff going on everywhere. It's unbelieavable how quick it spreads to stuff that have nothing to do with the actual fact in the matter.

I wouldn't even say the Pro is a big blunder. Its just enthusiast forums are a bubble that can run wild with narratives lol.

Take the profit margins for instance. It was a huge point of discussion last year but its not even being discussed much now when Sony doubled their margins. Or how the mention of live service games gets PlayStation fans into a frenzy. I feel like many believed this generation was supposed to be more competitive, that Sony is going to be tripping over themselves, that they'll abandon single player games for the live service gold mine, and that notion hasn't really left these enthusiast boards. Essentially, Sony is doomed, because my confirmation bias says so!

Definitely not just into a hardcore gamer bubble, it was literally everywhere in the internet, the Pro reveal became an actual widespread joke like the PS3 back then.

Reception now has actually being quite decent or even good, basically everyone reviewing the Pro is satysfied or happy with it, but the comment on their reviews are still mostly people ignoring that and either being angry or joking about it.
