Which is litteraly a detriment to the overall long term gaming industry when you've got a good portion of it's population only sticking to fewer experiences because "it's addicting and they don't mind paying". That's literally the rethoric you could use in any cases then. Of course, I'm not saying, don't have fun with those, but keep in mind, this is not helping those people to get into the broader gaming experiences at large. |
Can't argue with that. It is the game industry cannibalising itself but at least the gamers are having a great time of it. I played FF14 for about 10 months a few years ago fairly hardcore, like 6-8 hours a day, that one game only and I had no complaints, even paying the subscription I felt like I should buy stuff on the mog store every now and then cause the game was giving me so much and taking so little. The ammount of content as well as the social aspect of the game, it felt like I lived in that world for a lifetime. I look back on it and I have no regrets. Lived on Destiny 1 also when I was severely lacking cash back in 2014 and that was all I could afford and if it wasn't for that game I wouldn't have had anything new to play, game never got old in that time frame. It's a boon for the cash strapped to, you gotta think of it that way..If it was Genshin Impact or whatever the new one is, The Last decendant or whatever I'd feel the same, especially if I was severely lacking money in these difficult times.
