Which is litteraly a detriment to the overall long term gaming industry when you've got a good portion of it's population only sticking to fewer experiences because "it's addicting and they don't mind paying".

That's literally the rethoric you could use in any cases then. Of course, I'm not saying, don't have fun with those, but keep in mind, this is not helping those people to get into the broader gaming experiences at large.

It really is an issue which unfortunately I dont see it being addressed anytime soon.

The amount of consumers out there playing a few games and sticking with them is a huge amount and companies see that as incentive into what their doing now. They are going to keep investing and failing in trying to attempt to capitalize on it like what happened with Concord and Foamstars.

I know a few people who only play a handful of games - there's people who been playing games for years but never heard of games like Persona, Onimusha, Ace Attorney, etc but know what Mario, Sonic, Pokemon, Zelda, GTA, etc are.

Like one of my coworkers - only plays GTA Online (not even the main story but just the online), dude bought GTAV whenever a new system came out, hence the reason why Rockstar keeps re-releasing the games and why there's 3 generations of releases. (He also buys whatever the NBA game that is recent, another reason why these sports games are yearly...).

None of these people go on forums, just the other day the group of coworkers asked me "Who the hell goes on internet forums in 2024" lol.
