Reception of Black/White made them change on their onlook of not using older pokemon, hopefully with what happened with Scarlet/Violet will improve the next gen.

Beauty here is the codename for Kalos. Originally, they were planning to have more brand-new Pokémon for Gen V debut in Pokémon B2W2, however due to poor reception in the west of the lack of old Pokémon in BW, they instead used those designs for Kalos
