Todd and his brand of Bethesda have been mediocre for 15 years—outdated gameplay. The presentation of the story and scenes are still stuck in 1996. I can't take a game seriously anymore if its way of having exposition from an NPC is an FP shot of the NPC square in the middle of a flat shot not moving just talking like Hanna Barbara cartoon from the 70s. Cyberpunk 2077 has plenty of game design issues, but its presentation is modern and feels dynamic even when scripted. |
Yeah, I would say that is pretty much your opinion but since its purely your opinion I need not argue with you about it. If that is how you feel, all good. Personally I just believe BGS issue is the same as 343 issue which is trying to continue using a very old engine for modern day games. I know why they continue to use it but it probably has reached its time and their toolsets as well. As for Cyberpunk, well it bored me pretty much so I never completed the game. While you feel its game design and presentation feels more dynamic, that is probably because they have a much more modern engine and toolset but it still was boring to me. Its all opinion in the end but as I stated, I just believe BGS needs to move away from their current engine and toolsets because they are outdated.
