I think it's pretty up in the air if it'll happen or not but that part hasn't really mattered much before though. The DS still sold really well in 2010 despite the 3DS reveal so I think this aspect is overstated in terms of importance. For the Switch the Switch 2 coming out next year has become increasingly known about the past several months so there's already gonna be an increasing number of people holding out for it. A reveal video would only have a small impact on Switch sales at this point.

One reason is the Switch 2 reveal video could cause a boost to software sales even if only slight. If it has a bit of gameplay of the next 3D Mario game in it that'll bring some attention to Mario Odyssey for example and in general it'll bring positive attention and PR Nintendo's way and cause a notable surge in discussion about the company and their products. Could also maybe boost their stock a bit as well.
