I'm undecided whether I like it more than Alien 3, which I personally consider to be underrated. It definitely had its problems, but I did really like its style and atmosphere. Romulus is more polished, and also very stylish, but I did like the characters more in 3.
I was a big fan of the choice to use mostly practical effects for the xenomorphs rather than CGI in Romulus, it made their scenes feel more tangible and grounded.
