I'm against the "no games, only remasters" idiocy beint thrown around, because it's ridiculous and that's how you know someone is not being honest.
But come on Sony, why do games like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Part II need remasters?
And you are going to show it right after the disastrous PS5 Pro reveal?
It's like Sony is really trying to make people get to hate the PS5, doesn't matter it has great games, Sony really wants to make people hate them and the PS5.
What the actual fuck is going on with you, Sony?
Since Jim Ryan retired which had already been pretty confusing marketing under him now seems like it got a lot worst.

I'd guess Jim's leadership has led to less games. Whether it was a new direction for PS games, or even bigger budgets, plus more build time, etc. Could be a lot of reasons. I get the feeling there was more negativity going on at PS than we know of, that's been kept under wraps. Either that, or most were in agreement and have more recently realized they were more wrong than right.

This would explain things like SNY more recently commenting on how out of control AAA budgets are getting and how much time they're taking. Another is games like Helldivers II drying up quicker than one might expect, or Concord crashing and burning. What do you do when the long term sustainable games you're making don't last near as long as you'd planned?

This screams to me that somebody eventually saw somewhat of an output/playtime drought coming and so the decision was to do something cheap and easy to fill the gaps for the time being.
