The Switch hits 2m so after taking 18 weeks to sell a million it took 19 for the 2nd million. There's only 15 weeks left but it will get a boost for the last week of this month and even if it's not much it'll still get a boost during the holidays so 3m is doable for sure. It needs to sell on average just under 65k for the rest of the year to get there though each week like this one or ones that are in the 40's or potentially even 30's will make it that much tougher. It could come down to if the Switch 2 does get properly announced soon or not.
And oh dear the PS5 sold even less this week. If the new baseline is gonna be sub 15k or even close to 10k then that's gonna hurt a lot going forward. It makes sense though since I imagine after this price hike some Japanese gamers will feel that they may as well just get a PC for stuff like Wilds. Maybe the baseline will increase again once the Pro comes out but with how insanely expensive that is in Japan I doubt it'll have much impact.
