I honestly can't believe that SNY won't be dropping the price of PS5, because now would be the time to announce that, yet based on the price of PS5 Pro, it sure doesn't look like they plan to.
This might potentially be the first time that I skip a gen, and most of my friends will do the same.
Yet I still think no official price drop this holiday will hurt SNY some, and considerably through next year, so we'll see how willing they are to budge or not.

PS2 - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.
PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
