I think with time, and TVs getting some sort of Variable Refresh Rate tech by default, most console games will have option for uncapped frame rate and/or different gfx presets. 

VRR has been so amazing, and one of the reasons I went to PC.  My TV is VRR and supports up to 120 hz.  So PC games run incredibly well.
