[Weekly software and hardware sales figures] "Luigi's Mansion 2 HD" takes the top spot! "Luigi's Mansion 3" also returns to the top 10, and "Super Mario" series titles are doing well [6/24-6/30]
Sales ranking announced by Famitsu, here is a summary of the estimated weekly sales figures for video game software and hardware from June 24 to June 30, 2024.
Luigi's Mansion 2 HD took the top spot in it's first week. It is an action adventure game featuring Mario's twin brother Luigi, he is a main character in the Super Mario series and an eternal supporting character. This title was released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2013 and has been remastered in HD for the Nintendo Switch, it can also be enjoyed as a cooperative online game for up to four people and has recorded strong sales of 88,425 units.
In conjunction with Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, Luigi's Mansion 3 which released in 2019 and also returned to the top 10, ranking 7th. With a total of 994,862 units sold it's safe to say it will reach 1 million units in the next week or two.
In addition to these titles featuring characters from the Super Mario series, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe , Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are all doing well with six titles making it into the top 10 this week. Also Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Edition which was first last week and includes the main game and an expansion DLC code has dropped in rank but still managed to make it to fourth place with cumulative sales of 31,005 units.
