The whole industry continues to push graphics even nintendo main selling point for switch 2 is better graphics performance from what we know. So it's not just square it would be almost every developer of AAA games. even though graphics cost it also help advertise the game. would RDR 2 sold as well if it looked like a average ps4 game, heck no.
soundwave keeps arguing the same crap and is shocked that kids are playing games with ugly graphics but that's nothing new when DS almost sold as much as ps2 when graphics were making much bigger leaps. His main data point about people not caring about graphics were that console sales were slowing down and most PC users were mostly on much weaker hardware then consoles but the reality is gamers when you include PC have more capable hardware then ever. Then he will argue well PC is not really for gaming then you show him data in gaming sales and it's not that far off from all consoles combined and just ignores it.
