Lol, no.

The first game would come in at a good 20-25hours without the additional filler forced into the main quest. The main quest is not 10 hours short. And I don't think it would sell much differently at that length. But I agree the filler isn't whats making the game expensive, so the conversation is mostly pointless.

I've seen speed runs of the game in about 5 1/2 hours, not sure if these people are playing it legitimately or whatever.

I would assume 10-12 hours is probably very doable. This is also on the PS4 where loading times are slower.

Speed runs do not represent normal play. Every cutscene & line of dialogue is skipped, glicthes/loopholes in the gameplay are exploited. I just skipped through the video and the boss battle I was watching was sped up, he at once point use a glitches to roll to the end of an environment instead of having to navigate it. If you skip all the dialogue in any JRPG  and turn off the random battles, whilst speeding up all boses they would also be sub <10hours. I don't think that means much

The reported average complete time for the game is 30+hours plus for the main quest & 80hours for a completionist.

Realistically we should be working with average play time and extrapolating from there
