MS better have giving Disney something good in return if true.

EA InSiDrEs giving some info

- The news was a shock to devs. EA execs came in the morning and told staff in the afternoon. Contractors were the last to know.

- After the EA exclusive contract ended, all new licensing agreements from Disney/Lucasfilm would ask for 22% of profits.

- Disney later announced that all yet-to-be released games would see an increase of 11% on that previously negotiated licensing fee (now 33%)

-Epic would be the only developer to have a 0% licensing fee because of Disney's partnership with Unreal in many of it's projects

-Disney is using the increase on licensing fees to potentially force other current developers/publishers (such as EA) to back out of their previous deals and pay the penalties. If Disney themselves wanted to sever ties with developers, they would have to pay the penalties.

-Disney will continue collecting their increased licensing fees from all current Lucasfilm/Marvel/Disney games, potentially leading to the sunsetting of games such as Battlefront 2 (2017)

- The only Star Wars game that Lucasfilm has no morelicensing to collect from is The Old Republic MMO (EA/Broadsword Online Games now owns that game due to the completion of previous exclusivity deal)
