I will say that I think any Japanese third party is basically shooting themsleves in the foot by shunning Switch/Switch 2 at this point. A lot of them still target PlayStation only for the home market despite Nintendo outselling them 3:1 or even 4:1.

So when series like Final Fantasy, Persona, Kingdom Hearts, Like a Dragon, etc, inevitably don't come to Switch 2 I think they're missing a lot of potential sales.

The weird thing is that the argument used to be that PlayStation would result in bigger Western sales, but ofc Nintendo have been selling better than PS in the West too recently. Also, Switch owners clearly like Japanese games too (whereas PS userbase has many who don't), so focusing on Nintendo seems like a better bet to sell in the West too imo

Most of JP 3rd parties not releasing things on Switch are the ones developing games that target high specs and couldn't be ported to Switch in first place. I dont think Capcom can make RE Evil Village run on Switch

The big elephant in the room here is PC. PC market untapped a huge userbase for JRPGs. Developing for Series/PS5/PC is enough to secure high sales which can make them avoid low quality ports from Switch. Current architecture and engines making porting for those 3 systems a breeze and avoid development costs with optimization. Not every company wants to release a game that is plagued with many frame rate issues and problems to render assets and textures

As for Persona I'll be disappointed if it's not getting a Switch 2 release because Persona 5 is on Switch. It's not a high demanding game. I believe it has a decent chance to be on Switch 2 at launch

Kingdom Hearts will depend on how much Square wants the game to be high-fidelity. I honestly hope they keep targeting PlayStation here, simply because it's one of the few JRPGs that have enough budget to produce high fidelity graphics
