I'ts highly unlikely to win considering the games on offer this time, but for me it has to be Suikoden II. For pretty much all the other games I've played from this year, there have been better entries in their respective series, but Suikoden II remains the peak of the series, and in general just an excellent RPG. My top 5 for the year would probably be Suikoden II, Metal Gear Solid, Starcraft, Crash Bandicoot: Warped, and Baldur's Gate.
