Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man: Venom

With Insomniac set to release Marvel's Spider-Man 2 later this month, I thought I would take to opportunity to speculate about the series future.

Not knowing much about the plot of the upcoming game, I would like to predict that the next installment in the series will be an expansion similar in scope to Spider-Man: Miles Morales except focused on Venom instead.

We know that Eddie Brock isn't Venom in Spider-Man 2. Maybe he could be properly introduced or featured in his own side game. Insomniac are already introducing the symbiote suit and powers for Peter. With the PS5 level groundwork already set in the expanded map, they could turn around and crank out a smaller scale Venom adventure to release in about 2 years time, so 2025.

Miles Morales was such a success I think they would like to maximize the series sale potential by releasing a similar title in the near future. I then think we will see a full scale Spider-Man 3, three years after that around 2027/2028 probably as a cross gen PS5/PS6 launch game.

Venom is an important property for Sony, the Venom films being a large hit for the company. I think they would want to capitalize on the license and reinforce the brand.

Of course Insomniac already have their plates full but they are also among the most prolific AAA developers in the industry today. They have already announced Wolverine is in the works, they likely are working on a new R&C game as well, it has also been reported that they are doing their own live service game. I still think they will find a way to squeeze out an exciting Venom spin-off.
