I played Pool of Radiance not too long ago, and it is still extremely fun.  However, I still remember those old D&D rules, and that helps.  In general, all of those old gold box D&D games are still fun if you like turn based tactical combat.

I remember playing it a very long time ago for a little bit, and couldn't get into it, but that might have just been because I didn't understand properly how the game worked. It's not like it would be the only game that took more than one try to click with me.
