Jumpin said: Anyway. How are people doing with this game? |
I started going pretty well on Saturday and Sunday, with combined four hours of gameplay (only stopped because wife was already giving me the look, lol). It is SO addictive it's unbelievable.
Well, I managed to get a first win at around level 5, and that made me quite happy. I was playing Stingray and Falcon, the ones I used to play back in the day, and decided to use the Goose for the first time. Adaptation for it was not hard, as it plays a bit similar to Stingray, but hits harder. Long story short, I got two wins and two silvers for both the Knight Grand Prix and the Mini one:
Then I went into yesterday with a weird decision: I should play somewhat decently with all cars. So I put Fox to the use for the first time ever and, man, I started to get my butt kicked so hard. Completely different approach to the game if you ask me. Recovery is nice, but for me still does not compensate for the absolute lack of end speed that I, a Stingray player, have been used to. Also, boost management is completely different from SNES and that is also why Fox plays so awkwardly to me (I didn't play X or GX much). No wins and bad positioning in tournaments since, with only a second place on Sand Ocean I think, but I really want to learn how to play well with it.
