The last time a 2D Mario game presented a challenge necessitating any level of skill in order to beat it was arguably SMB3. So I doubt they're going to suddenly change course with this title. Especially given the direction of the last few games. Nintendo is about inclusion, and trying to provide a fun experience for all. Not challenging Ninja Gaiden NES fans. But we'll see. |
I wouldn't mind if it was SMB3 levels of difficult. Nintendo's classic platformers are known for being difficult but for good reasons, instead of being broken messes like Bubsy 3D or Sonic 06.
