I think I was more excited for Odyssey, but that might have more to do with the tarnished reputation 2D Mario has gotten, in my opinion.
Before they started with the 'new' branding, basically every Mario was a completely new game and with a little more tweaking, they could all be their own franchise. The games kept innovating with every iteration (the 3D games kept doing this), spread across home consoles and handhelds, but then suddenly decided to become lazy and just rehash the same type of content. Probably because the sales numbers were so insanely high.
I do think Wonder will dethrone Tears of the Kingdom as the fastest selling exclusive and depending on how much time the switch has left, has a chance of getting to 50 million, simply due to the fact it is the first original 2D Mario in 17 years.
I'm going to do my best to not look at any more trailers for the game as the trailers for Odyssey showed pretty much every area and completely took out the surprise of playing it. It was a series of ''oh, yeh, I remember this from the trailer''.
