Lol it doens't matter if the team is the same old team that did FFX, Haze for example or Lair were games from excellent developers, but the result wasn't good.
And FF has a cult following only in Japan, each game sells similarly in terms of numbers. In the west, it's a game that some may buy for a first time and then the sequels will not interest them much.
I agree it has a hardcore following in the west too, but FF in Japan is so big, that a lot of games in the west destroy FF in popularity and sales.
