I mean, Nintendo is know for having 2D Mario and Pokemon games as major sellers and they aren't exactly know for groundbreaking specs. I'm sure the next Switch 2 Pokemon won't make full use of hardware capabitilies either Besides, the only way for them to know how to properly use hardware to make games that take full advantage of the hardware capabitilies is delaying Switch 2 release for so long that every major studio inside Nintendo will have mastered the dev kits and the hardware particularities. Be prepared to Switch 2 not coming before 2027 if only "next gen" experiences is what you expect for the launch year Switch having similar specs of Wii U and having teams with stretched development cycle to meet Switch launch made first year pipeline looking next gen "enough" HD development takes time to be refined so it will surely not happen at Switch 2 launch, considering a big leap in power is a given the true "next gen" games (like Zelda or Monster Hunter) won't be fully there until a couple of years, rest assured of that |
I mean, I don't expect everything to be a super impressive exclusive next gen showcase from day 1, but I feel like both this and the scenario where every game is crossgen for 2 years are kinda two different extremes, and that the ideal path is probably somewhere in the middle.
