A Switch Pro or a Switch 2 would just be the same thing, except in name. |
That's why I think the best approach to this problematic is to release a new hardware as a pro and then later in its life reveal this same device as the true successor by making exclusives games. Like a new Nintendo 3ds thing but with a considerable upgrade in specs and keeping it longer.
A smooth transition instead of killing the previous gen right from the gate, abruptly forcing the consumers to move. I truly think it will work just right
1st year: New model, run Switch games at better quality, maybe 1 or 2 exclusives down the road that showcase the new hardware capabilities
2nd year: Userbase is building, release more exclusives if the game is demanding more than what the og Switch is capable of
3rd year: Og switch software support getting lower and lower as the consumers transition to the new hardware gets stronger
4th year - beyond: Og Switch no more, New hardware fully embraced
