I just wanna chime in here to everyone who may be reading this. If you haven't played Metroid Prime 1 or 2; do yourselves a favor and pick them up from Ebay or something. Don't be put off by the controls, which by the way are amazing, Samus is as responsive as Mario in a platformer; how they did this in a First Person game I don't know.

Of course Wiimote pointing in MP3 is amazing, but frankly, the series doesn't need it, it's just neat. All you are missing in MP1 and 2 is that you can't aim while moving, which you don't need to because of lock-on (which you _can_ do while moving).

Metroid Prime was the best game of the last generation; and Metroid Prime 2 is close behind - the boss fights are much cooler (and some would say harder) in MP2, and it has some really cool morphball puzzles.

Metroid Prime 3 has the best controls, but I like both 1 and 2 better in terms of immersion, the mood (you don't feel that solitude in MP3), and puzzles. Also, I didn't like all the travelling between planets in MP3, it's much more interesting to explore one interconnected world; that's what Metroid is about!

The Metroid Prime trilogy to me is the games of recent years that stand out the most to me, and in fact, I just started replaying Metroid Prime yesterday, after playing through Super Metroid on VC (which everyone should also get, of course). And it still feels good, the controls were only awkward for like 2 minutes (Metroid Prime 3-itis), then they felt natural once again.

I can hardly wait to see what Retro Studios will cook up next :)
