For me, it has to be Bayonetta 2.
It's damn close to being a perfect game; everything from the razor sharp action, to the wonderfully insane spectacle, to the rollercoaster pacing, to the charismatic lead, to the killer soundtrack, all comes together to form a near flawless package of pure entertainment.
There are very few games I have ever played that can match it in terms of sheer fun, as practically everything about it is fine tuned to be as enjoyable as possible, realism, logic, and subtlety be damned.
It feels like a celebration of games as sheer unfettered escapism.
Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023. (And over 130 million lifetime)
