So in the end it took around 5 years and 9 months for the Switch to outsell the PS4.
The question now is how much higher can it fly, and it's hard to say with practically no indication of how long until its successor.
Nintendo's FY forecast projects 125 million by the end of March 2023. From there, over 130m is a given, and over 140m very likely unless Nintendo pulls the plug completely shortly thereafter.
So it seems likely that it will finish more than 20 million ahead of PS4, a very decisive victory.
