Even if there was a reason (and OF COURSE THERE WAS A REASON, whathever that may be), the humilliation, the lying and the bad faith in putting the blame on her with that lie remains.

Then feel free to boycott.  To each their own.  I just don't see the major issue the requires my personal involvement.
