If Splatoon 3 moved this much hardware despite Splatoon 2 being on the hardware and so many feeling they were too similar, then Scarlet/Violet as the first open world Pokemon game should see the Switch selling out yet again.

Yeah but also it's the 5th Pokemon game on the system, and 3rd Pokemon game in 12 months (which is insane). First fully open world is a big deal. Though with Arceus being partially open world earlier this year I feel like that also takes a little bit out of the open world hype. Anyway, it'll be interesting if the 5th Pokemon game, and 3rd pokemon game in 12 months, can move a bunch of HW. I'm expecting a decent hardware bump but not nearly as big a bump as Splatoon 3.

It helps pokemon releases right before the holidays so the bump will most certainly make a difference and pokemon has a oled model releasing 2 weeks before the game. 2022 could beat 2021 holiday despite oled launching last year
