I think 18 million sales for next year, no new model to release
Switch 2 will be a late 2023 release

Agree on the first sentence. 18 million sounds about right and yeah I don't think we'll get a new model.

But the second sentence...come on. There's zero chance of Switch 2 in 2023. Earliest probable launch date is holiday 2024. I never understood all these "Switch 2 is coming soon" predictions. Back in 2019 and 2020 people were saying Switch 2 would come in 2022, even I think in 2021 some people still thought it might hit either holiday 2022 or Spring 2023. And now even in late 2022 apparently we still have people thinking it's only a year away when the Switch has so much life, and games, left to come. There is zero reason for Nintendo to release a new system next year. Holiday 2024 and Spring 2025 is the most likely and logical launch period (doesn't cut off Switch super early and allows time for a bunch more games to come out on Switch, while not dragging out Switch too long and have a low selling final year which would probably be the case if they kept it going until holiday 2025, and also allowing the current chip shortages to fade away by the time they need to start producing the next system). Just trying to point out the obvious :)
