Look, dude, I don't like 'Live Service' models either...but how does it NOT apply to a sports game. ESPECIALLY considering Nintendo doesn't do them yearly and often only do 1-2 per console. I think a game like Mario Golf or mario Strikers is exactly the sort of place 'live service' models are perfectly acceptable. Still don't LIKE it, but it at least feels appropriate compared to other games. 

They were already releasing the game and then releasing more content later on a bunch of similar titles. I really don't see the issue, here. the medium changes. I don't like all the changes but not all change is evil. This is not a bad thing, it's a natural progression. Feel free to not buy into it if you don't like it. IF it's not successful, then they will change it. If it is successful, then you got outvoted. Either way, not much you can do.
