A few weeks ago I went to see the new Matrix in theatres. Well, it wasn't very enjoyable. And the more I think about it the more I think that it was terrible.
If they kept the idea of the Matrix not being real and Neo just having mental health issues it could have been a pretty good drama. Instead it ended up being a bunch of some of the most awful action sequences I've ever seen with some of the worst camera work and editing. The plot was boring and there were several plotholes one of which so severe that the entire last third of the movie doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The new Smith was boring and unconvincing.
This was the first time ever I wanted to just leave the theatre. Now I wish I did.

Last week I then went to see the new Scream film and it's the exact opposite. I think it's right up there with the original in terms of quality, maybe even a bit better. Fucking great movie. Scary, funny, bloody as hell and genuinely exciting.
Loved every bit of it.
