Holidays and launches don't matter much if you can't produce enough units to sell them. The PS5 wouldn't have sold better or worse if it didn't launch in the holidays. Same for Switch, the first year of a successful console is usually selling out and selling what you can produce. Sony however can't produce this gen, so it will not compete with the Switch aligned anymore because it won't be able to catch up. Even catching up to PS4 if it even managed that will be a challenge.
