If Nintendo acquired anyone I think it would be something smaller like Level 5. God knows they could help Gamefreak in the graphics department. But it seems they'd rather just do contract work. Like Bandai Namco helps with a slew of high profile Nintendo 1st party software but they wouldn't buy them. Not sure if they even could afford Bamco.
But Nintendo should be fine. I mean, look at the best selling games on Switch. They're not from Activision, Bethesda, Blizzard or Bungie. While meaningful 3rd party support really goes a long way, I don't think it affects Nintendo as much as the other 2.
